Next TSC Promotions To Favor Unsuccessful Teachers. The fate of thousands of teachers nationwide who were awaiting promotions in 2024 was announced by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
The commission claimed that some educators will have to wait longer than anticipated to advance.
According to a TSC study, only 11,231 of the 28,681 teachers who asked for promotion last year were deemed successful by the commission.
Consequently, this implies that the remaining 17,450 educators will have to wait until 2025 for the next round of promotions.
According to TSC, teacher promotions occur once every three years.
Furthermore, TSC operates closely with the guidance provided by its 2022/2023 Annual Report, which provides an extensive evaluation of the commission’s activities.

The report also includes a summary of the major accomplishments, a number of difficulties encountered, a number of newly identified problems, and suggested solutions for the time frame.
Reports from commissions
The commission employed 15,000 teachers overall, both on permanent and pensionable conditions, as this report details.
Additionally, it hired 26,000 instructors as interns, 22,000 of whom were placed in junior schools and 4,000 of whom worked in primary schools.
The commission hired the greatest number of instructors last year. This was in an effort to address the shortage brought on by the 100% transition.
This includes both the full implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and education from primary to secondary school.
The TSC Boss stated that with the addition of the additional instructors, there are now 364,258 teachers registered with the TSC.
She went on to say that 8,367 primary school teachers had been transferred to JSS.
229,000 primary school teachers and an additional 55,125 teachers at junior secondary schools (JSS) for CBC have received retraining. They have received it from the teachers’ employer thus far.
The paper also demonstrates how poor staffing and facilities lead to low ICT integration in teaching and learning.
Additionally, the committee is addressing mental health issues that have been reported among teachers.
Final Remarks
Several educators who attended the 2023 December/January 2024 TSC promotions interviews recently received their results. However, some were successful and others weren’t. The commission has explained that those who got regret letters will be given the first priority. This will be in the next tsc promotions.
