TSC Teachers Set To Miss Retirement Benefits. Over 4,000 teachers are not correctly registered with the National Social Security Fund (NSSF). This is according to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), and they are unlikely to get benefits until they enroll.
The affected teachers’ employer has asked that they register at the closest NSSF office, provide their new number to the appropriate county directors offices around the nation, and attend.
The teachers are notified that TSC headquarters will get such documents so they can be added to the payroll.
In order to ensure that their records are appropriately documented, the TSC is also asking teachers who have recently enlisted with NSSF but whose records have not yet been updated to send the cards and their NSSF statements to the Commission.
According to the Commission, contributions from teachers who have not met the registration requirements are held in suspense accounts at the NSSF.
In various memoranda sent by county directors to instruct teachers on this material and obtained by educationboard.co.ke , teachers are given until June 21, 2024 to comply with the directive.
“All teachers must thus attend the nearest NSSF office for registration purposes.
Upon registration, please provide your NSSF number to your respective TSC Sub County Director for transmission to TSC Headquarters,” according to a note from one of the directors to instructors.
