TSC Circular Affecting All Teachers. When there is a crucial information regarding teachers in the country, it is passed across by the Teachers Service Commission. The information is relayed via a circular from the Chief Executive Officer Dr. Nancy Macharia. The commission has issued a circular to all Teachers warning them from being associated with any issues regarding spread of fake examination materials.
This comes at a time when the country is approaching the crucial national examinations period. The commission has warned teachers from engaging in in such activities and has also warned on some social media platforms having fake examination materials.
The commission has prohibited and asked teachers to be aware of such platforms as they may have a serious impact on their jobs.
Social media platforms engaging in exam malpractices
Reports from the commission indicate that there are over 33 telegram, Facebook and WhatsApp channels that have been flagged off for selling fake examination materials.
In regards to this, the Teachers Service Commission CEO has emphasized on the dangers that comes with association with these platforms. She has clarified that severe disciplinary action will be taken against any teacher who engages in such offenses.
In addition to that, In the recently released circular, the commission has flagged off the social media platforms. Teachers have been asked to avoid them as plagues. The over 380 000 teachers have been asked to be vigilant and avoid falling prey in those platforms.
Copies of the aforementioned circular have already been distributed to all the educational offices across the country. A copy of the circular can also be downloaded online in the official TSC website.
TSC Circular Affecting All Teachers
Among the offices that have received a copy of the circular are inclusive but not limited to the following;
- The Kenya National Examination (KNEC) offices
- The Regional Directors offices
- County Directors offices
- Sub County Directors offices.
The TSC code of conduct stipulates clearly that teachers must conduct themselves in a manner that does promote examination malpractice.
In addition, violation of TSC code of conduct and core values will lead to disciplinary action. This will be done in accordance with the penalties stated.
The national examinations have already began and are expected to run till the 24th of November 2023.
