According to the Ministry of Education, Grade 10 pupils will be placed over the course of the following two weeks, and all students are anticipated to report to their senior schools in January.
The statement was made on Thursday, December 11, when the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) results were announced in Nairobi.
All students can now see the results, according to Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos.
Migos indicated that school selections and career pathways will be released within a fortnight. Teachers and parents were directed to access the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) portal at kjsea.knec.ac.ke for detailed academic performance records.
The Ministry of Education noted that under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), learners have been categorised into four career pathways comprising Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); Social Sciences; Arts; and Sports Sciences.
According to Ogamba, a total of 1,130,459 candidates sat for the examinations. Ogamba reported that 59.09 per cent demonstrated potential to pursue the STEM pathway at senior school.
Ogamba further reported that 46.25 per cent demonstrated the capacity to pursue the Social Sciences pathway, while 48.73 per cent exhibited capability to pursue the Arts and Sports Sciences pathway.
Ogamba added that learners will be placed in senior schools based on individual performance and their selected career pathways, in accordance with the guidelines of the Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms.
The Ministry of Education indicated that Grade 9 learners will transition to senior school by 12 January next year. Migos stated that admission details will be issued to the learners ahead of the reporting date.
