APPLICATIONS FOR FACILITATORS/TRAINERS OF TEACHERS AT JUNIOR SCHOOL LEVEL OF INTEGRATED SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS AND ENGLISH
The Teachers Service Commission spearheaded the implementation of the SchoolBased Teacher Support System (SBTSS) initiative under the Secondary Education Quality Improvement Project (SEQIP), which was implemented from 2017 to 2024.
The intervention aimed at enhancing proficiency in pedagogical practices and mastery of the content for teachers of Science, Mathematics, and English in secondary education.
Based on the success of SEQIP, particularly the SBTSS component, SBTSS has been extended to Junior schools and Diploma Secondary Teachers Training Colleges (DSTTCs) under the Secondary Education Equity and Quality Improvement Programme (SEEQIP).
The SBTSS initiative will be implemented in all 47 counties including camp based schools in refugee camps in Garissa and Turkana.
The Teachers Service Commission is therefore inviting applications for trainers of Junior
School teachers for Integrated Science, Mathematics and English. To qualify as a Junior School facilitator/trainer, one must satisfy the following basic requirements:
Registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.
Minimum qualification: Diploma in Secondary Education in either Mathematics, Science or English
Trained in CBE
Teaching experience of at least five years in Senior school/ Secondary school with the Teachers Service Commission.
Demonstrated proficiency in computer use and applications.
Must be serving in the county of choice
Must not be a serving head or deputy head teacher.

Facilitators for Special Needs Education
Registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.
Minimum qualification: Diploma in Secondary Education in either Mathematics, Science or English
Trained in CBE
Teaching experience of at least five years in Special Needs Education Senior School/ Special Needs Education Senior Secondary school with the Teachers Service Commission.
Demonstrated proficiency in computer use and applications.
Must be serving in the county of choice
Must not be a serving head or deputy head teacher.
Responsibilities of the assignment
Attend preparatory training
Prepare training materials
Train teachers
Support peer learning
Mentor and coach teachers at school level
Write and submit training reports
Attend meetings
Observe lessons
Interested applicants should submit applications not exceeding 2 pages and current Curriculum Vitae including List of relevant trainings conducted and references.
The deadline for the applications is 15th October, 2025.
The documents should be sent by mail/hand delivered to respective TSC County Directors on or before 15th October, 2025.
