TSC’s New Criteria For Promoting C1 To C2. Article 237(1) of the Constitution established the Teachers Service Commission, which is currently accepting applications from qualified educators for a range of posts that correspond with career advancement requirements.
Applications may only be submitted electronically using the TSC site, www.teachersonline.go.ke; handwritten submissions were not permitted. Applications are done when Vacancies are advertised.
Promotion documents required for C1-C2 advancement include:
1. Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from DCI
2. Clearance Certificate from HELB
3. KRA Tax Compliance Certificate
4. Clearance from EACC
5. Clearance Certificate from an approved CRB

Vacancy Announcement No. 61/2023 (C1-C2): Senior Teacher II (Regular Primary School) – T-Scale 7 – 10,819 posts.
Requirements for Appointment:
– Minimum three years’ service as Primary Teacher I T-Scale 6
– Satisfactory performance appraisal rating
– Compliance with Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution
– Additional criteria as deemed necessary by the Commission
Note: Asal and Hard-to-Staff counties candidates with at least 2 years in the current grade are eligible.
Vacancy Announcement No. 62/2023 (C1-C2): Senior Teacher II (SNE Primary School) – T-Scale 7 – 700 posts
Requirements for Appointment:
– Minimum three years’ service as Primary Teacher I T-Scale 6
– At least a Diploma in Special Needs Education (in the indicated specialty)
– Satisfactory performance appraisal rating
– Compliance with Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution
– Additional criteria as deemed necessary by the Commission
