In addition, According to TSC, the government has developed a self-sponsored, short-course ICT curriculum that will run you sh. 2,500.
The course will cover foundational, basic, intermediate, and advanced digital skills, as well as those specific to the public sector.
The ICT curriculum was developed by the Ministry of Information Communications and the Digital Economy through the ICT Authority. The purpose is to implement the “Kenya National Digital Master Plan 2022 to 2032”.
The Commission invited teachers, secretarial staff, and eighth-grade students to register for the training.
Basic digital skills training will be self-sponsored and cost Ksh. 2,500/= (two thousand five hundred shillings) per person. However, the commission is having plans of automatically deducting the amount from teachers’ salaries.

After completion and evaluation, a certificate will be issued by the government.
In a memo, TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia urged all educators, Secretariat employees, and eighth-graders to sign up for the course at https://www.smartacademy.go.ke.

The “Kenya National Digital Master Plan 2022-2032” is being implemented by the Ministry of Information Communications and the Digital Economy, through the ICT Authority.
One of the Master Plan’s cornerstones is the development and enhancement of residents’ digital abilities.
Over 20 million residents are expected to receive basic digital skills as part of this effort, which will improve their ability to efficiently access and use Government e-services.
To that purpose, the government, in collaboration with stakeholders, created an ICT curriculum of short courses concentrating on Foundation, Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced digital skills, as well as public sector-specific digital abilities
In Phase 1 of the scheme, the ICT Authority intends to train around 5 million citizens through a consortium of ICT training companies recruited from both the public and private sectors, NGOs, and other approved training schools.
The training will be self-sponsored, with a charge of Ksh.2,500/= (two thousand five hundred shillings) per person for fundamental digital skills.
The government will issue a certificate following completion and assessment
All teachers, Secretariat staff, and Grade 8 students are urged to register for the program at https://www.smartacademy.go.ke.
All Regional Directors, County Directors, and Sub-County Directors are instructed to make sure that this circular is sent to all teachers in their respective jurisdictions.
