TSC To Deploy Several P1 Teachers To JSS. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has commenced an extensive evaluation with the objective of ascertaining the quantity of primary school educators who now possess Bachelor’s and Diploma degrees.

Under the direction of Dr. Mugwuku Nthamburi, Director of Teacher Professional Management, this evaluation aims to collect comprehensive information broken down by county while emphasizing different levels of certification.

Memo TSC/DTPM/CDS/40/VOL.II/115, issued July 4, 2024, outlines the assessment and asks regional and county directors to provide data by July 11, 2024. Based on academic credentials, including grade criteria for subjects taught at the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) level, the data will be divided into multiple categories.

The Directorate of Teacher Professional Management is in charge of the assessment, which attempts to compile comprehensive information broken down by county and particular requirements.

Directors are asked to submit information divided into six sections according to qualifications:

i) Owners of Bachelor’s and Diploma degrees who have earned at least a C+ in each of the two teaching courses and a minimum mean grade of C+ in the KCSE (or equivalent).

ii) Holders of Bachelor’s and Diploma degrees who have at least a C plain in each of the two teaching courses and a minimum mean KCSE grade of C+ (or equivalent).

iii). Those who have earned a bachelor’s or diploma and have at least a C+ in each of the two teaching disciplines, as well as a minimum mean KCSE grade of C plain (or equivalent).

iv) Those who have earned a bachelor’s or diploma and have at least a C plain in each of the two teaching topics (or a comparable mean grade in the KCSE).

v) Graduates and holders of diplomas and bachelor’s degrees with two teaching subjects and a minimum mean grade of C- (minus) or lower (grades in teaching subjects not specified).

vi). Any other categories mentioned. In order to raise educational standards across the nation, Dr. Nthamburi stressed the significance of this examination in ensuring that elementary school teachers fulfill the required credentials.
