TSC Schedule On Recruitment & Confirmation Of Interns. Beginning in October of this year, 20,000 people will be hired by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) for internship terms.
The company that employs the teachers had intended to hire the interns in July, but because of financial difficulties, it had to push back the process until October.
During her testimony yesterday before the National Assembly Education Committee, TSC Chief Dr. Nancy Macharia disclosed that the commission has faced significant financial reductions.
The Treasury adjustments caused the reduction, which now had an impact on TSC activities, particularly teacher recruitment.
20,000 TSC intern Recruitment Advert
According to TSC head Dr. Nancy Macharia, 18,000 junior and 2,000 primary school intern teachers will be hired in October of this year.
However, the TSC’s initiatives have been impacted by a sh10.28 billion cut to the recurrent budget.
The 2024–2025 Financial Year Supplementary budget Estimates were presented, and the recurrent budget was reduced from the initial allocation of Sh357.77 billion to Sh347.49 billion.
TSC claims that one of the programs impacted by the budget changes is the July pay increase for teachers under the 2021–2025 CBA.
Instructors can also receive training in Competency Based Curriculum (CBA), among other things.
TSC teacher Internship Programme is a one year programme , that is defined to equip as well as sustain competencies of persons entering the teaching fraternity.
Internship programme targets only those who are unemployed and registered teachers who get assigned to learning institutions where their teaching experience will be enhanced. .
Upon completion of the other processes, TSC will announce the application procedures and deadline for TSC internship
Important Documents to prepare on for recruitment
Teacher applicants shall be required to produce the following: –
- Original and copies of of Teacher Registration Certificate/print-out from TSC online portal as evidence of registration as a teacher;
- Clear copy of National Council for Persons with Disability (NCPWD) card (where applicable);
- Clear copy of the National Identity Card (ID) or Passport;
- Clearly produced Two (2) colour passport size photographs;
- Clear copy of National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) card;
- Clear copy of Kenya Revenue Authority Personal Identification Number (KRA PIN).
Teacher interns attached to primary schools will be earning a monthly stipend of sh 15,000 while those in junior school will get sh 20,000.
