TSC New Website For Teachers Seeking Swop Transfers. A new website has been developed to facilitate the process of matching teachers seeking TSC county and inter-region transfers with fellows who share their interests through swop.
The platform is designed to assist educators who are trying to deal with the problem of transfers that are missed because they don’t have a suitable replacement.
Collins Oyuu of the Kenya National Union of Primary Teachers disclosed information on the new website, which allows interested teachers to register, post a transfer request, and look up potential swap partners.
A notice sent to Knut branch secretaries on July 24, 2023, disclosed the specifics of the new website last year.
According to Oyuu Oyuu, the new platform, www.swop.co.ke, which is run by Azahub Limited, a private firm, facilitates communication between teachers and other teachers who are interested in SWOP.
Oyuu stated that with the REPEAL of the delocalization policy, which had detrimental impacts on many teachers, their families, and the education community at large, this platform can be evaluated according to the needs of the instructors.
TSC New Website For Teachers Seeking Swop Transfers
Following her testimony before the National Assembly Education Committee on the transfer of delocalized teachers, TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia disclosed that around 46,962 delocalized teachers had submitted transfer applications by June 2023.
TSC Boss verified that 20,055 teachers had been transferred by the commission back to their home counties out of the aforementioned total.
TSC Boss has indicated that it had not effected all the delocalization requests due to lack of suitable replacements.
It is important to note that TSC teachers’ transfers is guided by the need for equitable distribution and optimal utilisation of teachers and th same applies for teachers seeking swop.
It also relies on whether a position is open at the intended station, the necessity for a specific replacement, the personnel policies in place, and any medical justifications.
According to TSC Staffing, the shortage of native educators in hard-to-staff locations and semi-arid (Asal) climates necessitates the hiring of educators from other areas.
Teachers who want to return to their home counties have been requesting transfers on a regular basis as a result of the aforementioned circumstances.Chairman Julius Melly reported to this committee that occasionally, even after multiple attempts by teachers to apply for the posts, the employer does not give them the chance.
