TSC to Deploy Qualified Primary School Teachers to Junior Secondary Schools
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has initiated the process of deploying qualified primary school teachers to Junior Secondary Schools (JSS).
Deployment Procedure
Deployment will be handled by Sub-County Directors, who will issue two deployment letters for each teacher:
One copy for the teacher.
One original for submission, along with other relevant documents, to the TSC headquarters.
Teachers will be placed either in their current schools or in nearby institutions, depending on proximity. Other considerations include subject combination, gender, and SNE (Special Needs Education) qualifications. Teachers with SNE credentials will be posted to special JSS.
Document Verification
Candidates must present the following during the verification process:
1. Original and copy of degree/diploma certificate.
2. Original and copies of academic transcripts.
3. Original and copy of SNE certificate (if applicable).
4. Original and copy of KCSE certificate (or its equivalent).
5. Copy of current payslip.
6. A written declaration from the Head of Institution confirming the teacher is actively serving and not under interdiction or disciplinary action.

To qualify for deployment, a teacher must:
Be registered with TSC.
Be currently employed as a primary school teacher by TSC.
Not be under interdiction or facing disciplinary proceedings.

Teachers with a KCSE grade of C plain, plus a Diploma and a Bachelor’s degree in Education, are also eligible.

Vetting Process
Sub-County Directors will invite shortlisted teachers for document verification. The documents to be reviewed are the same as those listed above.

After vetting, County Directors must forward the following to the Director of Staffing:
Sub-County meeting minutes confirming the verification, signed by relevant officers.
County meeting minutes summarizing the sub-county findings.
