TSC July Salary Increment Per Job Group. The teachers’ unions Knut, Kuppet, and Kusnet were left out of the most current version of the proposal to raise teacher compensation.
TSC instructors will receive a rise in remuneration for the month of July, along with other government workers. Depending on the range, they will earn a wage increase of seven to 10 percent.
President William Ruto made the statement on Friday, saying that the goal of this is to shield public employees from the harsh economic circumstances that are currently in place.
“I am aware that the SRC is considering a proposal to increase the salary of several public servant cadres, such as civil officials and other public servants.
Deputy President William Ruto said, “We have agreed that beginning tomorrow, your salaries will be adjusted between 7 and 10 percent,” at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) at the launch of the new e-citizen platform.
The three teachers unions, on the other hand, have led the charge in negotiating a better salary for educators.
When choices about pay adjustments are made, this won’t be on the table.Actually, the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) will be the only organization in charge of implementing the required pay modifications.

Teacher unions have a huge advantage when they bargain for compensation hikes. TSC releases the pay increase for July. Knut and Kuppet had initiated conversations with TSC over the 2021–2025 CBA modification.
However, the talks encountered an obstacle. TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia told Parliament in May that the Commission would need to spend Sh56 billion over the next four years, starting in July 2023, to raise teacher compensation from job category B5 to job group D5.
“For the 2021–2025 school year, the commission negotiated a non-monetary CBA with the teacher unions in accordance with the advice provided by the Salaries Review Commission.” Members of the National Assembly Education and Research Committee, presided over by Julius Melly, were apprised of this information by Dr. Macharia.
According to Dr. Macharia, “it was agreed that the CBA be reviewed mid-term if the country’s economic situation would improve.” According to Macharia, teachers need an annual pay raise of fourteen billion shekels (Sh14 billion) in order to be motivated in their line of work.
“To better motivate teachers who work for the Commission, the Commission would like to review the CBA for the years 2021–2025, with a focus on the salary component,” she said.
Therefore, we would like to request the Committee’s assistance in helping the Commission secure 14 billion Kenyan shillings annually for a four-year term in order to pay for the same.
During the negotiations that TSC had started with teachers unions, Knut had proposed a 60% pay increase for teachers to be paid in July, while Kuppet wanted a 42% compensation raise.
