The training facilities for primary school teachers are listed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in each subcounty.
This month, the Commission plans to begin mass training primary school teachers in a program designed to give them the essential skills they need to instruct junior school students.
The programme sponsored by World Bank is a reprieve for the teachers who are yearning to teach in junior schools.
TSC already listed a total of 38,849 P1 teachers who it says are qualified to undergo the training programme aimed to upgrade their Primary Teacher Education (PTE) certificates.

The training centres have been brought close to teachers to cut down on travel and other expenses.
Teachers will be able to attend training sessions which will now be close to their homes.
TSC has contracted universities to offer the upgrading programme in local institutions which include high schools and Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs).
This is due to the huge number of primary school teachers listed for the training.
TSC is targeting teachers who scored KCSE mean grade C+ and above and at least C+ in two teaching subjects.
Successful teachers will then be deployed to handle Grades 7, 8 and 9 classes after completing the course.
