TSC Finally Reviews 2021-2022 Non-Monetary CBA. Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has extended an invitation to Teachers Union to evaluate the non-financial 2021–2025 CBA.
According to a circular sent to the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers, or KUPPET, the meeting is set for this month’s 22nd day. “Commission scheduled for Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 9:00 am for the aforementioned purpose,” the circular stated in part.
“The Meeting will Take Place at the Kenya School of Government (KSG), Lower Kabete, Nairobi,” the notice added.
2021-2025 CBA
A Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) was agreed in July 2021 by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET), and the Kenya Union of Special Needs Education Teachers (KusNET).
Thus, in accordance with Section 60 of the Labour Relations Act, the CBAs were registered by the Employment and Labour Relations Court on August 27, 2021.
Promotions
Promotions of Teachers shall be in accordance with the Career Progression Guidelines in force.
However teachers serving in ASAL and hard to staff areas and are holding administrative positions in an acting capacity shall be promoted progressively.
This is until they obtain grades commensurate to their respective positions.

Leaves
Application for different categories of leave shall be considered and approved strictly in accordance with Part X of the CORT.
However, the Commission shall grant:
Maternity Leave of One hundred and twenty ( 120) Calendar days with full pay with effect from date of delivery.
Pre-adoptive Leave of Forty-five (45) Calendar days with full pay with effect from the date of adoption.
Paternity Leave of Twenty One (21) calendar days with full pay once a year.
