Number Of TSC JSS Interns To Be Confirmed. More than 20,000 JSS instructors called the government, requesting that it clarify their confirmation in the wake of the Finance Bill withdrawal.
As a result, data gathering for confirmation has begun. The heads of some subcounties have been instructed to provide the subcounty offices with information about every junior secondary school teacher they have.
The following information has been requested from the intern teachers:
- name
- TSC number
- highest level of qualifications
- their current station among other details
This is submitted to the sub-county TSC offices.
The above move comes after call from the intern teachers who wanted to know if their employment terms were changing to permanent basis as earlier promised.
Sources have indicated that these teachers are expected to receive their permanent letters before the start of the 3rd term , 2024.

These teachers claim that their meager remuneration, which consists of a stipend of Sh17,000 for junior school students, is never sufficient to cover their daily costs.
Since many of them claim that they were only prepared to teach two courses, their lack of proficiency in the other disciplines they are currently managing has been a cause for concern.
The teachers are currently awaiting their letters of permanent employment so they can get payroll compensation in the same way as their colleagues.
