TSC C2 Salary Levels And Allowances For Teachers. Based on their experience and qualifications, C2 teachers at the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) get varying basic salaries.
In addition to their base pay, some teachers receive other benefits dependent on certain conditions.
As per the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), the C2 job grade is intended for newly registered teachers who possess a bachelor’s degree in education.
Most of these people are education graduates from universities who have been hired as first-time teachers in secondary schools through the Teachers Service Commission.
In addition, Teachers of Grade C2 have been divided into seven payment levels by TSC, and each level has an own base pay scale.
It is significant to remember that after working as a grade C1 teacher for three years under TSC, any trained teacher with a diploma is eligible for promotion to secondary grade C2.
Nonetheless, employment grade C2 teachers are those who have completed their training at a university and are promptly hired as secondary school teachers, without needing to accrue any years of service.

It should be noted that a grade C2 teacher with a diploma must pass a promotional interview in order to advance to grade C3.
After three years of employment, a grade C2 teacher with a university degree is automatically promoted.

Additionally, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) sets the teachers’ salaries; group C2 instructors received a significant pay increase under this arrangement.
This came about following the collective bargaining agreement’s (CBA) implementation.
TSC has divided the instructors in C2 into seven payment tiers, with varying base salaries for each level.

Note that these teachers are also entitled to other allowances which include;
- Monthly Hardship allowance of sh 10,900.
- Monthly Commuter allowance of sh 5,000.
- Teacher Annual leave allowance of sh 6,000.
- For the disabled (Disability guide allowance) of sh 20,000.
These teachers further, depending on their place of work are paid different allowances which is issued as follows;
- For those teachers based in Nairobi earn sh 16,500.
- For those teachers in Mombasa,in Kisumu, inNakuru, Nyeri, inEldoret, Thika, Kisii, Malindi and also Kitale receive sh 12,800.
- With those teachers in other former municipalities get sh 9,600.
- Also those in other areas not covered above get sh 7,500
