C1 To C2 Promotion Requirements September 2024. In accordance with Article 237 (1) of the Constitution, the Teachers Service Commission performs the duties of a Constitutional Commission.
In carrying out this duty, the Commission is inviting applications from teachers who meet the requirements for the roles below in accordance with the Career Progression Guidelines for Teachers.
Before September 8, 2024, interested candidates who match the requirements should apply online using the TSC portal at www.teachersonline.go.ke.
Manually filed applications won’t be taken into consideration. The Teachers Service Commission welcomes applications from people with impairments and advocates for equal opportunity.
Note: Prior to being appointed, successful interviewees are required to submit legitimate Chapter 6 documentation.
These documents include:
- A Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
- Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
- Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
- Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
- A Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
To be appointed to this position, a teacher must:
- Have worked as a Primary Teacher I T-Scale 6 for a minimum of three (3) years;
- Have a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- Fulfill the conditions outlined in Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution; and
- Satisfy any other requirement set by the Commission.
- Note: Candidates in arid and hard-to-staff counties who have worked in the current grade for a minimum of 2 years are eligible.
ADVERTISEMENT NO. 62/2023 (C1-C2): SENIOR TEACHER II (SNE PRIMARY SCHOOL) – T-SCALE 7 – 700 POSITIONS
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
To be appointed to this position, a teacher must:
- Have worked as a Primary Teacher I T-Scale 6 for a minimum of three (3) years;
- Hold at least a Diploma in Special Needs Education (in the specified area);
- Have a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- Fulfill the conditions outlined in Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution; and
- Satisfy any other requirement set by the Commission.
Note: Candidates who have worked in the current grade for a minimum of two years and reside in desert or difficult-to-staff counties are eligible.
