TSC Promotion And Review Of CPG Rules. Furthermore, the Career Progression Guidelines (CPG) are now being reviewed, according to a statement made by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
The commission’s intention to pay instructors on an interim basis for administrative jobs was also stated. Macharia declared, “We are committed to ensuring our teachers’ safety and providing them with the resources they need to deliver high-quality instruction.”
It was decided during the conference that TSC would initially elevate 51,000 teachers; the union claims that the remaining 130,000 have faced stagnation. The Kenya National Union of Teachers decided to end its strike as a result of this decision.
However, Kuppet continued its strike, pushing for the conversion of Junior Secondary School (JSS) teachers to Permanent and Pensionable (PP) status despite the new proposals.

On Sunday, Kuppet raised additional demands, including a review of the continuous professional development criteria, which they described as punitive and responsible for the stagnation of teachers in several job groups.
They also called for compensation for teachers performing administrative duties in an acting capacity. These discussions unfolded in the context of a court ruling that ended the strike the previous week.
Due to the court decision to halt the strike and worries about possible retaliation against its members, Kuppet was left with few choices.
According to sources, the union decided to end the strike after meeting with TSC on Monday. “As funds become available through budgetary allocations from Parliament, the Commission will continue to promote teachers,” the CEO of TSC stated.
Regaining the time lost during the first week of the strike is now the focus of concern. There are only eight weeks left until the national exams, and worries regarding learning gaps and potential exam changes have been voiced.
