TSC Administrative Promotions List Per County 2024. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced that about 36,000 teachers would be promoted this year in accordance with professional advancement requirements.
This comes following the just concluded promotion interviews.
TSC intends to provide the list as quickly as possible to enable teachers to ascertain whether they have been granted the eagerly awaited promotion.
This is a result of the majority of them having spent a considerable amount of time in the same occupational category.

These promotions took gender equity, regional balance, and affirmative action into account for the country’s dry and semi-arid land counties.

The promoted teachers will assume the positions of Senior Master IV, Deputy Principals I and II, Head Teachers, and Deputy Head Teachers II in secondary schools.
In order to compete for the 36,505 seats, around 150,000 primary and secondary school teachers were shortlisted and invited to interviews.
The following year, secondary school teachers were interviewed. It took place in 2024 from January 3rd to January 16th.
3,040 Senior Teacher I (C3) posts in traditional primary schools and 346 special schools will be competitively filled by C2 teachers.
For 1,930 Deputy Headteacher II (C4) positions at regular primary schools, C3 teachers will compete.
Deputy Headteachers in C4 will compete for 1,049 Headteacher jobs in C5, including 30 for special schools.
This interview were unique in that it will feature the highest number of teachers ever shortlisted for promotion by TSC.

Teachers Service Commission basis for interviews
According to Macharia, promotions are made based on a set of criteria that include
- funding availability,
- the presence of open positions,
- a candidate’s aptitude and merit as evidenced by job performance,
- seniority and experience,
- annual performance records, and
- academic achievements.
36,275 promotion opportunities for teachers in job groups C1 through D5 were notified by the Commission in August.
The online submission window was available till September 15th.
A little over 150,000 educators were selected to participate in the promotions interviews.
The Commission has never considered this many instructors for promotion interviews.
One of the invitation letters that school updates looked over states that a C1 teacher who applied for promotion with Advert No. 61/2023 had to bring these seven items to the interview.
