The Following P1 Teachers Are Set To Be Promoted. Before the deadline expires, P1 teachers are urged to take advantage of the promotion openings that the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has posted.
TSC sent out practice PTE teachers to junior schools, advertising 6,000 promotion opportunities.
By March 18, 2024, the Commission requests that active primary school teachers with a secondary option degree submit an online application.
Beginning in May 2024, TSC intends to assign the third group of certified PTE teachers to junior high classrooms.
Following the Sub-County Directors’ verification of their documentation, the teachers will be assigned to classrooms right away.
After that, the Commission will check the successful teachers’ documents at the headquarters to make sure that only certified teachers with legitimate documents have been posted.
TSC acknowledged in January that junior secondary schools are experiencing a serious teacher shortage.

The Commission is under pressure to deploy more teachers to junior secondary to address the serious teacher shortage currently experienced.
Most deployed teachers are primary school teachers in job group C1. Others are teachers in job group C3 and C4.

Those deployed (with degree certificates) will be placed at job group C2 where they will serve for a period of three years before being moved automatically to job group C3.
The Commission ordered the Sub County Directors to ensure the teachers are deployed to their current stations or those that are close to their current stations.
TSC said teachers with Special Need Education (SNE) qualification should be posted to Special junior secondary schools.
