Term 1 2024 Half Term Dates Rescheduled Slightly. It is anticipated that all primary and secondary school pupils across the nation will take a half-term break next week for their first term.
Students will experience a 13-week first term, followed by a three-day half-term vacation from February 29 to March 3, 2024, as per a plan announced by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu in October of last year. Initially it was scheduled to begin as from 28th February, but it has since been announced officially to start on 29th February.
After that, from April 8 to April 26, 2024, students will have their April break.
The second term will last for 14 weeks, from April 29 to August 2, 2024, with a half-term break planned for August 20–23, 2024.
The third term will be the shortest, lasting only nine weeks, running from August 26th to October 25th, 2024. Following this, learners will break for the December holidays and resume classes on January 3rd, 2025.
The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Intermediate Education Assessment (KILEA) examinations are set to commence from October 28th to October 31st, 2024.
The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations will take place from November 4th to November 22nd, 2024.

Teachers’ training colleges commenced their first term on January 8th and are set to conclude on April 5th, 2024, followed by holidays from April 8th to April 26th, 2024.
The second term will commence on April 29th and conclude on August 2nd, 2024, while the final term will run from August 26th to November 8th, 2024.
The government recently announced that the registration period for KEPSEA and KCSE 2024 candidates will span two months.

Kenya National Examinations Council CEO David Njeng’ere stated that the registration, which began on January 29th, will conclude in March 2024.
“The registration of 2024 KPSEA and KCSE candidates will take place from January 29th to March 29th,” he confirmed, urging school principals to ensure timely registration of all eligible candidates.
