Teachers across the country are going through tough times following a delay in their July Salary pay. Usually, teachers are paid on 25th of every month.
This is however not the case in this month’s salary as teachers may be forced to wait a bit longer for their July Salary. According to Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba. Teachers will have to wait until August 1st for their Salaries.
CBA BETWEEN TSC AND UNIONS
This has been caused by the recent CBA signing between TSC and Teachers’ Unions. Migos has confirmed that the delay is due to relevant adjustments of the new CBA that saw all teachers get a salary increase.
The CBA that was signed on 18th of July was a relief to majority of teachers with the lowest teacher in grade B5 pocketing a whooping Ksh:29,000 all the way from Ksh: 23,000. This translated to 29% increase.
On the other hand, the highest paid teacher in job group D5 will now earn a total of Ksh: 167,415 per month translating to 5% increase.
