Several School Heads Set To Be Replaced By TSC. Those teachers who are now employed as administrators but did not earn promotions will be replaced by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
As a result, educators who have positions as senior masters, headteachers, deputy principals, deputy headteachers, senior teachers, and headteachers but were not promoted would immediately lose them.
In September of last year, the Commission released an advertisement for 36,505 promotion opportunities. A 724-page list of the biographies of successful instructors has been released by TSC.
Through their county directors, TSC has recently started to send promotion letters to instructors who demonstrate success.
The Commission appointed several deputies to headteacher and principal positions in different elementary and secondary schools between January and March of this year.
This happened at a time when TSC is coping with a significant number of principals and head teachers retiring.

Additionally, TSC directed county and sub-county directors to ensure that no vacancies exist in schools.
In December and January, TSC conducted interviews for teacher promotions.
In December 2023, interviews for elementary school teachers were conducted. In January 2024, interviews for post-primary school teachers were conducted.
About a hundred and fifty thousand educators had made the short list.
TSC will send all 36,505 successful teachers with promotional letters, and they will be expected to submit five Chapter 6 documents.
The five documents listed below are mandatory in accordance with Chapter 6 of the Kenyan Constitution on ‘Leadership and Integrity’.
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) cost 1,050/-
- Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) cost Free
- Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) cost Free
- Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) cost Free
- A Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) cost 2,200/-
TSC has hinted that headteachers and deputy mayors will be assigned to positions outside of their own subcounties.
In their current sub-county, senior teachers are more likely to work in schools with openings.
On the other hand, those who are promoted through confirmation will stay on staff in the schools where they have been performing for years.
Regret letters, serving as evidence of their involvement in the interview process, will be sent to the teachers who were rejected.
