Deployment Of Secondary School Teachers To JSS. Plans are underway for the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to implement a deployment strategy for all senior secondary school teachers hired in 2019 and thereafter to Junior School JSS.
The aforementioned instructors deployed plan aims to bridge the shortage of teachers that junior schools have been experiencing.
It is believed that the decision to assign these teachers is a budget adjustment because it might make it impossible for them to immediately hire a new group of permanent and pensionable junior school teachers.
Even if this information has not been made public or published by the official TSC pages ,it is in order for the above category of teachers to be prepared psychologically on the to avoid being caught off guard which may cause panic.
Will the commission choose to deploy these teachers, them it goes withouts say that more money will be saved that may be later used to confirm the second lot of Internship teachers who have completed their internship contract period.
Deployment Of Secondary School Teachers To JSS
The commission initiated the teacher internship program back in 2019 December where qualified Teachers were recruited as interns.
The teachers had to trade their skills for a period of one year after which they were awarded with a certificate that gave them an upper hand during recruitment.
The teachers who started internship in 2019 were receiving up to a maximum of 30 marks which gave them an upper hand during recruitment interviews
By then , the intern teachers were highly valued a situation that motivated many of them to scramble for internship positions now that it was the only way one could get into permanent and pensionable job.
The commission in 2023 advertised internship positions in Junior School JSS which received a higher number of teacher applicants.
The TSC clause, which stated that they would automatically be converted to permanent and pensionable terms after serving for a year, inspired the majority of instructors.
Teachers renewed their contracts for a second year as a result of TSC’s decision to prolong the contract in violation of the agreement, which is what is causing the ongoing strike.
In order to solve the shortage, the commission is also organizing a deployment exercise for 6000 primary school teachers to junior high schools this term.
