– Minimum KCSE grade of C Plain and above
– At least C minus in English
– C in Mathematics for science-based courses or D for non-science-based courses.
For a Bachelor of Education:
– Minimum KCSE mean grade of C+ and above, or its equivalent
– C+ in two subjects of specialization
For Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science:
– Minimum KCSE grade of C+ and above
– C+ in two subjects of specialization
For people moving into teaching positions, there is a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
While some degree holders hope to teach secondary school, those with marks below the TSC-mandated C+ can find it difficult to achieve the KCSE mean grade criteria.
