KUCCPS Extends Application Deadline. Because of continuous problems with the system, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has extended the deadline for course applications once more.
The placement service announced on Sunday, April 25, that the application process would be extended indefinitely until it was certain that all eligible students had applied.
The initial Monday, February 26 application deadline has been extended until KUCCPS verifies that all eligible students have finished their applications.
The announcement stated, “KUCCPS has extended the application deadline, which was originally scheduled for February 26, 2024, until it is confirmed that all targeted students have submitted applications.”
Students were cautioned against making double payments as the verification process is longer since the government has consolidated all paybill services to a single number.
KUCCPS Extends Application Deadline
“Since payments for Government services have been migrated to the eCitizen platform, the process of payment validation for the KUCCPS application is longer than before. Applicants are advised to avoid making double payments,” KUCCPS stated.
Application Process For KUCCPS Courses
“The processing of applications for placement will start once KUCCPS is sure all applicants have submitted their course choices based on the targeted number of students. Therefore, no one will be disadvantaged on the basis of the day or time they made their applications.”
“Placement application processing will commence once KUCCPS ensures all applicants have submitted their course preferences. Therefore, no applicant will be disadvantaged based on the timing of their application.”
KUCCPS also noted that after the initial placement exercise, two revision opportunities will be provided for students who haven’t applied or secured their desired courses to reapply.
This extension marks the second instance after the service encountered system issues.
At that time, KUCCPS CEO Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome assured in a statement that all students would be placed in higher learning institutions, extending the deadline to February 26.
“I assure all those seeking training opportunities through the KUCCPS portal that no one will be left behind,” Dr. Wahome stated.
