TSC Disciplinary Regulations For Teachers To End. The Teachers Service Commission Act of 2012’s new proposed Amendment Bill will be completely opposed, the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) has vowed.
Collins Oyuu, the secretary general of KNUT, claims that his research shows that TSC, the teachers’ employer, is now attempting to propose changes that will only worsen the situation for educators.
TSC Disciplinary Regulations For Teachers To End
Oyuu disclosed that he has already advised parliamentarians to make sure the bill gets watered down when it comes up for discussion in the national assembly.
Speaking on Tuesday at the Rarieda sub-county, Oyuu stated that the recently suggested revisions, particularly those pertaining to the teacher disciplinary procedures, are highly detrimental.
The KNUT Secretary went on to say that the panel will not be able to handle matters pertaining to teacher compensation on its own.
Now that Oyuu has given the teachers his word, he is prepared to make sure that Bill never gets a chance to pass.
Oyuu also criticized the TSC’s newly disclosed promotion list of teachers, claiming that the organization was unclear in how it carried out the promotions and that it had been quiet when it came to requests for the release of the whole list of all the promoted instructors.
He added that some of the TSC numbers included in the promotions are associated with individuals who have left the military because of retirement or other circumstances.
Oyuu voiced grave concerns about a number of instructors who have not received promotions, including some who have been in their current roles for an extended period of time.
He added that there are others who have conducted multiple interviews but each time they were unsuccessful.
KNUT demands that the teacher’s employer provide the complete names and the precise counting against the TSC numbers mentioned in the promotion list for the sake of justice and clarity.
