SUBJECT: VERIFICATION AND COLLECTION OF 2026 KPSEA, KJSEA AND KCSE EXAMINATION CANDIDATES’ REGISTRATION DETAILS
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is finalising verification of the data. In this regard, KNEC wishes to bring the following information to your attention:
1.0 The KNEC registration (green) Nominal rolls will be delivered to the Sub-County Education offices between 27th and 30th April, 2026.
Sub-County Directors of Education (SCDEs) are requested to ensure that all Heads of Institutions (HoI’s) collect the documents for final verification.
2.0 Cases of institutions that do not appear on the Sub-County Collection Point/ Distribution Centre print-out, and/or do not receive a Green nominal roll should be reported to SCDEs to confirm their registration status.
3.0 Centres that registered less than 10 candidates for KPSEA, KJSEA and KCSE examination against the KNEC instructions have been directed to liaise with the SCDE to identify a host centre where the leamers will be transfered/registered by KNEC.
Failure to adhere to this may lead to deregistration of the centre as KNEC assessment/examination centre.
The list of such centres has been provided, with a template for use to capture the necessary information on such centres.
4.0 SCDEs are expected to confirm that all centres in the sub-counties are appropriately ligned to the nearest Collection points/Distribution centres.
5.0 KNEC will collect the Green Nominal rolls from SCDEs’ offices between 4th and 8th May, 2026. Note that KNEC will only collect the green nominal rolls, while schools will retain the White nominal rolls as a reference document.
All other registration documents will also be collected together with the Green Nominal rolls.
Other documents to be collected by KNEC include:
5.1 List and template for schools that registered less than 10 candidates duly verified by SCDEs;
5.2 Verified distribution centre (collection points) print out dully signed by the SCDE;
5.3 Medical assessment and Hols’ reports on candidates with special needs;
5.4 Forms for candidates with special needs and accompanying HoI’s Declaration Form;
5.5 Photograph albums for KCSE examination
5.6 Fees payment invoices and bank deposit slips (where applicable); and
5.7 Sub County private candidates manual forms for KCSE examination
6.0 SCDEs are requested to ensure that all HoIS submit all their registration documents, especially the Green Nominal rolls before the collection date, as officers collecting the materials are required to account for all the documents received.
