Confirmation Of Intern Teachers. Kenyan President William Ruto has promised that, before the year is over, all Junior Secondary School (JSS) teachers will receive confirmation and be hired on permanent, pensionable terms.
In spite of the difficulties caused by the Finance Bill’s withdrawal, Ruto declared in his speech on Wednesday at the commissioning of the Kimuka Power Sub Station in Kajiado West, which is part of Kajiado County, that the teachers will be confirmed.
Ruto promised that all JSS teachers’ complaints will be taken into consideration. Ruto stated in his speech that the government will ensure that all JSS teachers are confirmed by the end of 2024, despite all the difficulties brought about by the Finance Bill.
Confirmation Of Intern Teachers
Teachers will be able to instruct knowing that their employment is permanent and pensionable as per the agreement.
The promise from the head of state coincides with a significant commotion regarding the predicament of JSS teachers and greatly elevated concerns.
The new competency-based curriculum, or CBC, is being implemented by the JSS instructors. The Budget and Appropriations Committee ordered the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to recruit all Junior Secondary School teachers after these teachers went on strike earlier in June.
After participating in an internship program, intern teachers are now seeking confirmation of their employment on a permanent and pensionable basis.
The head of the Budget and Appropriations Committee stated that sufficient funding had been provided by the government for the project during the 2024–2025 fiscal year.
Legislator Ndindi Nyoro, a member of parliament for Kiharu, also gave the TSC instructions to hire all 46,000 of the interns who have been employed by the program.
Rather than sticking with the original intention to hire the teachers in January 2025, Ndindi expressed confidence that these teachers would be hired once the financial budget was passed.
