C2 To C3 Promotion Interview Requirements. The TSC promotional grade for senior teachers in primary school is known as C2. This implies that the instructors are promoted into this job cadre through an interview process.
Additionally, this job cadre is also an entrance into administrative roles. For any teacher to be in this job group, they must undergo through a thorough interview conducted by the Teachers service commission. In addition to that, availability of vacancies must also be considered.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT TO JOB GROUP C2
For any primary school tutor to be appointed into this job cadre;
- they must have served as Primary Teacher I in T-Scale 6 for a minimum period of three consecutive years.
Practicing primary school teachers with degree majored in secondary option are nowadays promoted by TSC to teach in Secondary schools.
Once the primary school teachers are promoted to teach in secondary schools, they start at job group C2. In addition, they enjoy salaries and allowances attached to that grade.
In the current secondary school setting, C2 happens to be a grade for diploma teachers who have been promoted.
PROMOTION REQUIREMENTS FROM TSC FROM C2 TO C3 GRADE
The minimum requirements for job group C2 teachers to be promoted to C3 have been stated hereunder;
- Teacher must attend a promotional interview since it is not automatic.
- Must be a registered teacher
- Must have a degree
- Must have served for a period of not less than three years in the current grade.
NOTE;
Teachers working in ASAL regions must have served in the current grade for a period of not less than 2 years.
Under the level of secondary school, all graduate teachers, upon being employed by the commission are automatically in job group C2. Additionally, they work for a period of 3 years, upon which they are automatically promoted to job group C3.

Personally i applied and am looking forward to that interview,i have stagnated since 2015,that was my last promotion,acquired my degree in 2016 but have not made any impact in my life.Have acted severally as deputy principal and once as principal.Currently acting deputy principal.Its quite demoralising.
