All Types Of TSC Allowances For Teachers. Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Allowances fall into one of two categories: reimbursable or remunerative.
While reimbursable allowances are refundable upon application, rewarded allowances are provided in conjunction with salary.
Pay allowances
Two categories of compensatory allowances exist:

Paid upon application.
These include:
Responsibility allowance
Headteachers, Deputy Headteachers, and Senior Teachers in Job Group K and below receive this payment.
Special Duty Allowance
Teachers who are deployed in arid and semi-arid areas and appointed to administrative posts by the commission are eligible for this.
Reader’s allowance
The recipient of this reimbursement is a visually impaired instructor who employed a reader with at least a KCSE D+/KCE Division III qualification. The commission periodically determines a fixed rate at which the allowance is paid.
All Types Of TSC Allowances For Teachers
Interpreters’ Allowance
This is payable to deaf teachers who use interpreters while on study leave.
Special school allowance
This is paid to teachers with special needs education backgrounds who have been deployed to teach in special schools or units.
Transfer Allowance
This is payable to teachers who are transferred from one district to another, provided the Commission initiates the transfer.
Expenses Reimbursable
The commission reimburses the following expenses for teachers:
Travel expenses:
The teacher is only eligible for remuneration under the following circumstances:
Where a teacher’s interdiction has been lifted.
While traveling to attend an interview.
Traveling to a station on the first posting outside the home district.
Traveling from a duty position beyond the home district after retirement
During school breaks, teachers in hardship areas go to and from home. The teacher’s home district must be located outside the hardship area.
Teachers should apply using the prescribed forms and submit supporting documentation.
Quota per day:
This is the daily stipend for subsistence that teachers receive when working on official duties. The application deadline is at least 14 days prior to the trip.
In addition to the base pay, the following benefits are paid each month: housing allowance, leave allowance, commuter allowance, and hardship allowance.
The Disability Guide Allowance is available to teachers who use wheelchairs or have eyesight difficulties.
