List Of Schools Closed Indefinitely Before End Of Term1. Information reveals that as a result of persistent banditry attacks in the area, at least 19 schools in Baringo North have been permanently closed in the last three months.
More than 2,000 families were forced to relocate to different internal camps as a result of these attacks, and they are currently in need of assistance from humanitarian organizations.
A total of sixteen lives have been claimed at the same time.
The government has come under fire for its perceived incapacity to uncover bandits from their hiding places in response to ongoing banditry attacks in six North Rift counties.
For example, instruction has been suspended at Yatya Primary School in Baringo North for the past week due to the growing insecurity there. Both students and instructors have avoided the school.
According to the County Director of Education in Baringo, Mr Japheth Masibu the region is experiencing serious issue of students not going to school, because of insecurity, in the area.
Among the list of schools that have been closed indefinitely are:
- Sibilo Secondary School
- Sibilo Primary School
- Koroto Secondary School
- Koroto Primary School
- Biretwonin Primary School
- Akorayan Primary School
- Moinonin Primary School
- Chepkwel Primary School
- Kosile Primary School
- Ng’aratuko Primary School.
In addition this, there have been schools that were operational last year but have since been closed due to the ongoing attacks.
These schools include;
- Kagir Primary School
- Yatya Secondary School
- Rondinin Primary School
- Karimo Primary School
- Sesianin Primary School, Kasepeiwa Primary School
- Naipen Primary School
- Kibenos Primary School.
Over 2,000 families have been forced from their homes as a result of these attacks, and they are currently seeking refuge in settlement camps that have been established in locations deemed secure.

Speaking about this matter, Mogotio MP Reuben Kiborek said that it is regrettable that criminals are closing schools in this century because the government should defend people’s lives so that kids can learn without worrying about their own safety.
