Machogu Gives New Solution On Grade 9
According to the CS, the government has given the NG-CDF a conditional grant of Sh3.39 billion, which is being dispersed throughout the constituencies in order to access infrastructure resources.
He continued by saying that classrooms will be constructed with the conditional grant attached to these funds in order to close the gap that is currently visible.
The terms under which CDF is matching this financing from its allocation are that the construction of one classroom with the use of this fund will determine the likelihood of obtaining funding for the construction of further classrooms.
Machogu stated that the government intends to construct 6000 integrated resource centers for junior school students through the ministry of education.
He went on to say that the government had previously worked with the World Bank and received an allocation of Sh9 billion, which will be utilized to build an additional 9,000 classrooms.
A total of 15,000 classrooms will be built thanks to the two tiers of funding sources.
In order to set the record straight on the hosting of Grade 9, Machogu stated that JSS classes will continue to be housed in primary schools.
He also mentioned that the students will move to senior school following grade 9.
Data from the government indicates that 2, 279, 052 students are enrolled in JSS schools nationwide in grades 7 and 8.
