Deployment Of P1 Teachers To JSS. The second group of practicing PTE teachers will be assigned to Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) starting next week.
Once TSC has sent application lists, TSC Sub-County Directors will handle the process of teacher placement and document verification simultaneously.
Following their deployment and document validation, the first cohort was issued deployment (posting) letters to junior secondary school.
P1 teachers were tasked for instructing junior high students in Grade 7.

The deadline for applications elapsed, however a large number of instructors were prevented from applying, and very few teachers submitted applications for deployment.
Some sub-counties have as few as twenty instructors designated for deployment.
Teachers who lost out on the first deployment had the opportunity to reapply once the Commission approved new applications.
Some teachers were not included on the lists because they did not get a Short Message Service (SMS) inviting them to check their documents.

The portal is now open again. Primary school teachers with the necessary credentials are encouraged to apply.

The Teachers Service Commission published the following circular earlier this month addressing the vetting and deployment of P1 teachers to Junior Secondary Schools (JSS).
The Commission has assessed a total of 10,833 requests for the deployment of Junior Secondary Schools from certified primary school teachers.
