According to Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba, the second week of January 2025 would see the release of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam results.
On Tuesday, while attending the Omogusii Cultural Festival at the Kenyoro School Grounds in Nyamira County’s North Mugirango Constituency, the CS made the news.
Within the next two weeks, the results of the KCSE exam will be made public. The KCSE tests were traditionally announced in January, and we are continuing that custom by making them available in the following two weeks,” he stated.
The CS also addressed potential confusion surrounding the timing of exam result releases.
He clarified that while results were typically announced in December, this was for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), which was not conducted this year due to the implementation of the new education curriculum.
“The exams previously released in December were the KCPE results, but this year, we did not have that examination. This may have led to some confusion,” Ogamba explained.
The 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams officially begin today, Tuesday, October 22 and ended in November.
This year’s exams took place in 10,755 centers, with a record-high 965,501 candidates, an increase from 903,138 in 2023.
The marking of exams concluded on December 13, 2024, after an extensive effort by examiners across 35 designated marking centers.
